The “Grannies,” a group of soccer players ranging in age from 49 to 68, were able to travel from their home in Limpopo, South Africa to Lancaster, MA to participate in the 2010 Veterans Cup, a national tournament for players over 30 years of age. The women arrived in Boston on July 14th, 2010 to an enthusiastic welcome and were honored to have this opportunity to play soccer and represent their country at the Veterans Cup. Their trip was made possible by many generous donors and WCB 2010 was proud to be involved.
