Fall 2009: Jamaica Plain Launch

In the late summer and early fall of 2009, WCB 2010 was launched at organized youth soccer leagues and pickup games, at four sites throughout the city: Pope John Paul II Park, Dorchester, East Boston, Jamaica Plain, and the Mayor’s Cup Tournament, Millennium Field, West Roxbury. These launches built awareness about WCB 2010 among families, children, neighborhood champions and civic leaders throughout the city, bringing soccer activities and giveaways of WCB 2010 promotional materials to city children and families. Neighborhood Launches were successful in building excitement and energy around the year-long calendar of events to follow.
