The Franklin Park Zoo Family Fun Day, held on August 7th, 2010, was the closing public event of WCB2010. After 3PM on this day the Zoo agreed to allow WCB2010 attendees to enter the facility free of charge, receive a free carousel ride voucher for their child and remain until 9PM for a viewing of a MassHousing sponsored family film.
Attended by more than 200 guests, the most popular attraction of the day was a circle of child friendly drums and other instruments that were set up in the middle of the Zoo, a definite draw for children and parents alike. This activity was offered by Tony Fonseca, of All Hands Drumming.
This relaxed day at the Zoo was a great way to close a summer full of WCB 2010 events. The Family Fun Day was staffed by 10 volunteers and supported in partnership with MassHousing and BCYF.
